FEATURED CASE STUDIES
E-House Electrical Review, Erie PA
A manufacturer of prefabricated substation control enclosures asked MHL to close out the last three review comments on its Rev. 6 electrical package before resubmittal to the project reviewer. MHL reviewed the AC and DC power, alarm, lighting, ventilation and device wiring sheets and returned markups.
Solar Substation Control Enclosure As-Built Drawings
After an enclosure was wired in the field, the customer accepted it as built but wanted the drawings to match. MHL reviewed the electrician’s red-lines, checked them against each other, and produced clean as-built sheets for the five affected drawings.
360 Papa Commercial PV System Design Review
A Hawaii contractor sent MHL a design set to replace an aging rooftop PV array in Kahului with a 147.66 kW DC / 100 kW AC microinverter system under a NEM amendment. MHL reviewed the drawings, sent comments on code and documentation gaps, and stamped the corrected set. MHL re-sealed the set in June after Hawaiian Electric asked for more documentation.
Parkview Community Hospital ATS Upgrade TI
A hospital in Riverside needed two automatic transfer switches (400A and 30A) replaced because the manufacturer no longer produces the part and a substitute could not be sourced. MHL reviewed, stamped and signed the electrical sheets for HCAI submittal and supported the later HCAI review cycles.
